The 2023 Des Moines Corporate Games saw two new champions crowned, one being Iowa Soybean Association won Division 5 in 2021 and is a Division Champion once again, this time in Division 4.
American Equity is the other new champion. It held off a great push from defending champion FHLB Des Moines. It came down to the last event as the winning margin was less than 200 points.

“The Des Moines Corporate Games has been an amazing opportunity for American Equity over the last 5+ years!  Interest and engagement have increased every year, and so many team members look forward to participating and meeting new people each summer,” says Derek Johnson, Employee Experience Specialist at American Equity. “It is truly a team effort every year, and after an EPIC last two months we can finally say we are division champions this year!”

Three divisions saw repeat champions, which included Corteva Agriscience, R&R Realty Group and Zirous. Corteva has now claimed six Division 1 titles in a row after a great battle all summer with Pella Corporation. R&R Realty Group bumped up to Division 3 this year and went toe-to-toe with Schaal Plumbing, Heating & Cooling all summer before pulling away at the end of July.

We look forward to the DMCG every year!  While our team enjoys competing to win the title, we have found that the games increase energy, camaraderie, company engagement, and commitment to succeeding together.  The different games create unique opportunities for our employees to connect and create relationships, and fit with our company culture of a “we before me” mentality. It’s been fun to cheer each other on, celebrate wins together, and laugh at missteps along the way.  We absolutely enjoy it all!  - Mark Rupprecht, President of R&R Realty Group.

Blood Donation Challenge, Meals from the Heartland Challenge, and Volunteer Service Awards
In addition to the physical activities offered, two challenges were offered in 2023 to promote service within the community.
